What you will do: We are currently searching for a friendly, energetic full time Maintenance Technician for our 240 unit apartment community located in Sacramento, Ca. As a key part of the community’s success, you have a hand in every resident’s satisfaction. What you will Bring: • Solid understanding of maintenance in the property management field, skilled in: plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and painting. • Highly organized to handle work at a fast pace, efficiently with follow through and an eye for detail. • Proactive approach to handle anything that comes your way, especially when it comes to emergencies and after hour calls • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation • Ability to work after hours for on-call emergencies as part of the on-call rotation. Painter Responsibilities: - Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and repairing cracks - Mix, match, and apply paints and other finishes to various surfaces - Use brushes, rollers, or sprayers to apply paint or other finishes - Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas - Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers - Sand and/or scrape off old paint or loose debris from surfaces - Spray custom finishes (lacquer, paint, and custom coatings) - Cleanup work areas and remove materials Frequent lifting and carrying painting equipment, occasional lifting up to 65 lbs. paint cans, pulling, standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, occasional crawling and reclining, frequent climbing, balancing, pushing, occasional arm rotation, frequent manual and finger dexterity. Hearing warning signals and reading and comprehending safety instructions. Must be able to maintain general safety awareness and avoid hazards commonly present in employee’s work area. Required Qualifications: Must participate in and pass background screening and employment verification. Must keep a clean and professional work area and appearance. Reliable transportation to and from work is required. Two to five years of experience with a reputable painting company or possession of a painting certification from an accredited institution preferred. Must have knowledge of surface preparation procedures, proper use and mixing of paints. Must have the ability to read and understand the Product Data Sheet. Must have the ability to identify paint application requirements and equipment needed for coating application. Must be able to operate high-reach equipment. Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and work any shift. Must be able to access and move around safely; must have the ability to observe differences in color. Must comprehend written and verbal instructions and hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
