Key Responsibilities Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble Dismantle or partly dismantle machines and perform repairs Replace broken or defective parts Prepare written specifications for major repairs Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustment for operation Perform carpenter duties to include but not limited to framing and finish work, painting, staining etc. Design , construct, install and repair wooden fixtures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors, plaques and other custom wood products Performs other related duties as assigned Essential Skills Thorough knowledge of theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the trade Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the trade Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs Must be able to read and understand blueprints as appropriate to trade Adaptable and flexible in work situations Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years’ experience as a carpenter/maintenance mechanic Experience must be in an industrial or commercial facilities maintenance environment MUST have a Top Secret Clearance Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check Regular, dependable attendance U.
