OB/GYN Hospitalist – Inpatient-Only Practice with Career Growth Opportunities Location: Gilbert, Arizona Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Seven 24-hour shifts per month (12-hour shifts also available) Practice Setting: High-acuity women’s hospital | 100% Inpatient Call: None beyond scheduled shifts Travel: Not required Position Overview A leading women’s health hospital in Gilbert, Arizona is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalist to join its dedicated inpatient team. This position is ideal for physicians who thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments and are interested in opportunities for professional advancement through leadership, mentorship, or quality initiatives. This is a fully inpatient position—no clinic visits, outpatient follow-ups, or additional on-call duties. You’ll care for a diverse, high-acuity obstetric population with the support of 24/7 in-house maternal-fetal medicine specialists, anesthesia, ICU, and other key services. Role Highlights Inpatient-Only Model: 100% hospital-based, no outpatient obligations Predictable Scheduling: Stable shift-based structure for better work–life balance Complex Case Mix: Exposure to both routine and high-risk deliveries in a high-acuity setting Professional Growth: Pathways for leadership, mentorship, and participation in quality improvement programs Collaborative Team Environment: Work closely with specialists across maternal-fetal medicine, anesthesiology, neonatology, and nursing leadership Compensation & Benefits Competitive Hourly Rate: $135/hour Sign-On & Relocation Bonus: Up to $40,000 (based on experience and relocation distance) Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Generous paid time off and sick leave 401(k) plan with employer contributions CME allowance with continuing education support Fully covered malpractice insurance with tail coverage Reimbursement for licensure, board certification, and credentialing fees Key Responsibilities Provide inpatient management for laboring patients, including routine and high-risk deliveries Perform cesarean sections, vaginal births, and emergent OB/GYN surgical procedures Respond to inpatient and emergency department OB/GYN consults Partner with MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, and other specialty teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Complete timely, accurate documentation in the EMR system Engage in hospital-wide quality improvement and patient safety programs Foster a positive, team-first culture with a focus on maternal and neonatal outcomes Qualifications Required: MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology Eligible for Arizona medical licensure Preferred: Prior hospitalist or high-acuity inpatient obstetrics experience Demonstrated skills in obstetric surgery and emergency management Strong communication and collaborative leadership abilities Career Development This role is an excellent fit for OB/GYNs transitioning from outpatient care or looking to deepen their expertise in inpatient obstetrics.
