Our culture and our people are our top priority.  The Assembly Technician fabricates and assembles fiberglass structures according to blueprints and engineering specifications using standard carpentry tools and techniques to specified standards and level of craftsmanship. Essential Functions: Reads and understands blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Checks materials prior to fabrication to assure they meet specifications. Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining and fabrication. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as saws, drills, grinders, and shapers. Fabricates, assembles, builds and shapes materials to prescribed measurements and tolerances using cutting tools, drills, sanders, mixers and other process equipment. Verifies dimensions and trueness of assembly to specifications with precision measuring instruments. Completes process paperwork and documentation as required to include inventory, safety and quality documents. Selects specified materials and practices first in, first out inventory operations for perishable materials. May confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. Safely operates cutting and shaping equipment, power tools, hand tools and other process equipment. Assembles all tools, materials and consumables necessary to efficiently complete fabrication efforts. Travel to on-site locations for installation, construction, fabrication, repair, assembly or advisement on the installation of composite materials. Solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Ensures proper care for and use of tools of the trade. Thorough understanding and execution of carpentry principles and methods. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED or five to seven years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Carpentry certificate received from trade school preferred. Entry level with no experience to senior level with multiple years of work experience in carpentry or related trade. Working conditions The Assembly Technician will work at Advantic’s Headquarters and spend at least 80% of their time in a shop and warehouse environment.  Minimal travel – less than 25% can be expected.  The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.   Physical demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.  Ability to safely work with sharp tools and power equipment.  Manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination. THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Rental Events Manager, and working closely with the Venue Production Coordinator, the Rental Events Coordinator acts as a liaison and a primary point of contact for internal and external events, developing and maintaining client and vendor relationships to ensure excellent customer service, proper planning, and execution of events. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as primary point of contact for rental inquiries and responds in a timely, effective, and proactive manner. • Responsible for pre-event and on-site communication with clients to ensure accurate fulfillment of events. • Coordinate event details with rental client and maintain an appropriate event planning timeline. • Proactively anticipate and troubleshoot any emerging issues during planning process and on event day. • Support the management of events on the day of, including event set-up, communication with staff (security, janitorial and others), organizing vendors, and managing load-out. • Maintain an efficient billing system; prepare, submit, and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and other financial transactions. • Communicate with other LA Plaza departments to ensure all outside contract staff have been scheduled. • Maintain and update the rental events calendar for organization. • Provide follow-up after event to ensure satisfaction of clients. • Other duties as assigned Requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: • Minimum two years of event coordinating/management experience, preferably at a cultural institution or non-profit organization. • Must have excellent organizational, customer service and verbal/written communication skills. • Self-starter comfortable with taking initiative. • Familiarity and experience working with Latinx communities desirable; bilingual skills preferred. • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. • Internet competency and strong computer proficiency, including the Microsoft Office software suite (primarily Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and a familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software. • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job; frequent sitting and standing, walking, typing, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pulling, and carrying up to 30 pounds. • Must be available to work evenings and weekends when needed and have a valid California driver’s license and comprehensive automobile insurance coverage, as required by law.
