POSITION SUMMARY: Focus Interpreting is seeking a qualified CART Interpreter to join our team. As a Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) Interpreter, you will provide real-time transcription services for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring equal access to spoken communication in various settings. RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver accurate and timely CART services in educational, professional, and public setting environments. Employ specialized CART equipment and software to transcribe spoken words into text in real time. Ensure confidentiality and professionalism during all interpretation sessions. Continuously refine transcription skills and knowledge of various subject matters to effectively serve clients. Collaborate with clients and other professionals to customize CART services based on specific needs and preferences. REQUIREMENTS: Strong fluency in English, with excellent written communication skills. Experience and proficiency with CART software and technology. Knowledge of deaf culture and effective communication strategies for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in high-pressure situations. Certification as a CART provider or similar credential is preferred.
