Includes a 10% quarterly bonus opportunity and employer-paid benefits Location: Near Canton, MI Job Overview: As an OD/ID Grinder, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and fine-tuning OD/ID grinding machines to precisely grind the inner and outer diameters of parts to specified dimensions. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of grinding procedures and equipment. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Set up, operate, and adjust OD/ID grinding machines. Follow setup sheets or customer specifications to ensure accurate machining. Verify machine setups and product characteristics to ensure compliance with part print specifications, both initially and throughout the production run, using appropriate measuring devices. Select, dress, and mount grinding wheels as per specifications, utilizing hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding techniques. Inspect workpieces visually and by measurement to confirm that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications. Set up and use measuring devices as required. Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments; halt operations if problems are detected. Provide assistance and training to other team members as needed. Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, adhering to manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting issues, and arranging repairs as necessary. Operate power tools and other machinery while strictly following safety protocols. Undertake additional tasks as assigned. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. 2-5 years of experience in grinding, preferred. Familiarity with basic hand tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Strong attention to detail. Physical Requirements: Excellent visual acuity for detailed tasks. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. Capable of standing for the duration of the shift. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of background and substance abuse tests. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Adherence to safety rules and regulations. Experience with Parker machines and various blueprint specifications. Ability to edit pre-written programs. Ability to edit and troubleshoot programs for process improvements. Observe numerical control displays on the control panel and compare with the data on the process plan to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts. Inspects first run pieces and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications using operation certification knowledge. Utilizes various types of inspection instruments to check work per print. Completes necessary job-related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log. Perform basic equipment maintenance: proper coolant levels, filters, fan operation, cleans machine, etc. Use manual machines as needed to make work holding fixtures and other small quantity parts. Job Title: Heat Treat Operator Furnaces: 4 Location: Warren MI Shift: 1st  Pay: 23.31 to start. Pay raises coming soon due to union negotiations Summary Will perform operations in the Heat Treat area as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·         Conduct light duty maintenance, to have furnaces available for processing work orders (confined space work will be subcontracted to vendor base).  Maintenance includes maintaining flow scopes in good order and minor electrical trouble shooting and repairs – i.e replacing heating elements.  ·         Read work tickets generated in the lab  ·         Group parts to be processed together as permissible  ·         Make up loads to process in the furnaces, either manually or using a hoist  ·         Using a roller cart, transfer a tray with a basket of parts on it, to the furnaces and push the load into the furnaces.  ·         Set the furnace cycle, times, atmospheres and monitor the progress of each cycle in each furnace.  ·         When the cycle is completed, reverse the motions to unload parts back into the original containers.  ·         Copper plate small parts (i.e. retainers), through progressive tank dipping on the plating line and dip strip the copper when the cycle is completed.  ·         Charge and discharge the chromizing furnace once per day in the moor – this requires loosening and then retightening 8 bolts on each of the two chromizing furnaces.  ·         Maintaining appropriate documentation with each work order, such as signing off furnace processing charts.  ·         Occasionally putting parts into the -100 degree F. freezer.  ·         Shot peening of retainers  Requirements ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMICAL CONTACTS:                  In the Heat Treat Department, employees come in short duration contacts with the following chemicals:  ·         Quench oils, lubricating oils, tri-valent chrome (solid chrome), zirconium, ammonium iodide, hexavalent chromium (chromic acid), sulfuric acid, cupric sulfate, endothermic gas, natural gas, anhydrous ammonia.    Furnace elevated temperatures, up to 1750 degree F.    Critical Competencies Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Ability to understand and follow work instructions Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel ·         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  As a result, all applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. ·         This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position. Starts at 1 week. It is actually “unpaid vacation” and they get the lump sum paid out mid-year.
