Movers and Drivers WANTED (queens)

EMPIRE MOVER AND STORAGE We are looking for movers and drivers that have prior moving experience. It is preferable that foreman have 2+ years working in the moving industry. Position: Moving Truck Driver Job Summary: A Moving Truck Driver will be responsible being part of a moving team and transporting household goods and the moving team from one location to another using a Company authorized vehicle. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day. • Wrap/pack and physically move household goods into and out of moving truck into client’s location. • Loads delivery vehicle items scheduled for pick-up and delivery. • Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary. • Maintains basic hours of service records when traveling. • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to drive safely trucks that are 16’-26’ large. • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps. • Ability to plan delivery routes. • Ability to maintain basic logs and records. • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision. • Able to remain professional and courteous at all times. Education and Experience: • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. • Valid medical card. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. • Must be able to pass the physical requirements to obtain DOT medical card. • Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather. COMPENSATION: $21-$25 hourly rate and overtime after 40 hours. Commissions and tips are additional. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Position: Moving Helper Job Summary: The Moving Helper performs a variety of tasks under close supervision of Moving Foremen and members of management. These tasks include wrapping and packing furniture and household goods, traveling and supplementing crews to meet unusual changes in the schedule. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Wrap/pack furniture and fragile household goods items on assigned jobs. • Closely follows directions of Foremen and management staff and safely load/ unload goods in moving truck. • Provide quality customer service to all clients. • Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions. • Flexible working hours • Ability to work in a variety of roles. • Comfortable taking public transportation to various work sites. Education and Experience: • Previous moving experience preferred. • Warehouse experience a plus. • Job training for this position is provided by Company. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods standing, walking and lifting. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. • Ability to work early and overnight shifts. Pay: $18 to $20 plus tips. Overtime paid after 40 hours, bonus and tips.
