We are seeking a full-time Culinary Gardener who has experience in gardening and/or landscaping, to help maintain the integrity of our farm to table experience and develop new garden areas. Job Summary: As a Culinary Gardener you will be supervised under the Culinary Garden Manager and will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, such as: *Greenhouse production includes but not limited to; watering, sowing, material handling, and record keeping. *Hauling compost from the kitchen to the compost area, handling composted materials. *Harvest and washing of a variety of fruits and vegetable crops located around the property. *Property Maintenance by weeding, tree/shrub removals, maintaining irrigation, brush cutting, weed cutting, digging and other responsibilities as needed. *Planting a variety of vegetables, shrubs, and trees. *Moving materials using a wheelbarrow or golf cart around properties. Knowledge & Qualifications: *Basic Knowledge of organic garden practices. *Understand the basics of plants and equipment. *Must be able to follow instructions. *Must be able to work independently and as part of a team *Have the capability to operate motorized vehicles and power tools safely. *Comfortable using long handled tools including but not limited to shovels, hoes and rakes. Physical Requirements: * The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in varied weather conditions. *The ability to complete repetitive garden tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for long periods at a time. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and carry it a minimum of 10 feet. * Must be comfortable working with nature including bugs and animals.
