Job description Facilities Maintenance Tech (Certified Electrician) Key Responsibilities: · Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards. · Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, diagnose issues, and provide effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to operations. · Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components, including lighting, wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and electrical panels. · Respond to emergency electrical issues and perform urgent repairs to ensure safety and operational continuity. · Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations and report findings, recommending improvements or repairs when necessary. · Collaborate with facility management to implement energy-saving initiatives and ensure optimal performance of electrical systems. · Install and test new electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as required by facility needs. · Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations to ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local guidelines. · Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities in accordance with company policies. · Assist with the maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and other facility systems when necessary. Qualifications: · Valid state certification as a licensed electrician. · Proven experience in facilities maintenance and electrical work, with a solid understanding of electrical systems and components. · Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. · Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. · Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes. · Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. · Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices. · Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and climbing ladders. · Basic knowledge of other facility systems such as HVAC and plumbing is a plus. Education & Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an apprenticeship or electrical trade school preferred. · Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrician, preferably in a facilities or industrial setting. Physical Requirements: · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. · Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. · Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (temperature fluctuations, outdoor work, etc.).
