We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Android Engineer to join our Women's Health team. You will be instrumental in creating features that enable women and individuals with uteri to gain deeper insights into their reproductive health and its connection to their overall well-being. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that is at the forefront of wearable technology, innovating and defining the future of women's health. What You’ll Do: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code for the Oura Android app. Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to drive projects forward. Work cross-functionally with backend, firmware, data science, research, science, and QA teams. Partner with Android engineers across the US and EU to improve the Android codebase. Lead architecture and design discussions, technical and code reviews, and platform enhancements. Mentor and guide Android engineers across various teams and squads. Requirements 8+ years of professional experience developing and shipping Android apps. Expert-level Kotlin programming with deep knowledge of modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI, etc.), RxJava/Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack Compose, and common third-party libraries. Experience with collaborative development on complex shared codebases. Proficiency with Git, branching, CI/CD, and standard code review workflows. Strong focus on quality through unit and manual testing. Ability to own projects, design technical solutions, drive implementation, and deliver results with minimal guidance. Proven ability to mentor other engineers and enhance developer productivity. Strong experience with Agile/Scrum processes, systems architecture, and performance optimization. Solid computer science fundamentals and design patterns. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of professional experience developing and shipping Android apps. Experience with Dagger, Realm, JNI, C++, PyTorch, TypeScript, or Kotlin Multiplatform. Experience working asynchronously across time zones. Experience with firmware and companion hardware devices. Experience developing health, wellness, fitness, or women’s health products. Experience with ML algorithms, encryption, or data privacy. Experience with functional programming paradigms.
