Salesperson for Family Owned Furniture Shop (Capitol Hill)

Tirto Furniture seeks a salesperson to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys people, is self-motivated, confident, and pays close attention to detail. This person will work primarily on weekends from 10:45am-6pm. This person will be expected to work 3 - 4 weekends each month. The schedule will be determined a month in advance, with some flexibility. Hourly pay starts at $24, with annual raises. We seek someone who creates a welcoming environment for customers, accurately answering questions and checking people out, assisting with returns/exchanges, and assisting with loading furniture into vehicles. This is an important role, as this individual will be the main point of contact for all customers who visit or contact the store during their shift. Since this individual will be joining our very small team of four employees and representing the brand of our family business, we are seeking someone with the following requirements: ▪ 2+ years customer service or retail experience ▪ Able to work 3 - 4 weekends each month ▪ Commitment to excellent customer service under all circumstances ▪ Ability to communicate effectively ▪ Ability to accurately complete all sales documentation ▪ Ability to work independently under minimal supervision ▪ Ability to process information and merchandise through computer and cash register systems ▪ Ability to remain calm and effectively resolve customer complaints or problems ▪ High school diploma/GED or equivalent, Associate degree or equivalent preferred ▪ Ability to pass a background check ▪ Ability to help load furniture and rearrange merchandise in the showroom, able to lift 50lbs Daily Responsibilities ▪ Arrive at work on time in professional attire ▪ Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service ▪ Accurately complete all sales transactions ▪ Assist in processing, restocking and replenishing the merchandise ▪ Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock ▪ Maintain an awareness of all product information ▪ Help keep the showroom clean and orderly ▪ Answer and direct phone calls & inquiries to the appropriate person If you are interested in applying, please send a cover letter and resume to owner Claire Tirtoprodjo at claire@tirtofurniture.com
