Job Title: Assembly Associate Location: Detroit, MI (near Southfield Road) Pay: $16.00/hr Shifts: A Crew: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday) B Crew: 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. (Monday - Friday) Position Overview: We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable Assembly Associates to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling automotive dashboards, using various tools and equipment to ensure quality and precision. Key Responsibilities: Assemble automotive dashboards by attaching bolts, clips, screws, and wires. Use a torque gun to drill and secure components to specified torque settings. Requirements Qualifications: Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing role is preferred but not required. Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools, including torque guns. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Some lifting, bending, and reaching may be required. Job Summary: The Punch Prep Technician for Essel is responsible for preparing and setting up equipment and materials for the punch press operation and performing fire caulking tasks. This role involves ensuring all components are accurately prepared to meet production standards, maintaining equipment, performing fire caulking to ensure fire safety compliance, and adhering to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: Setup and Preparation: Prepare and set up punch press machines according to production requirements. Load materials into machines and ensure proper alignment and calibration. Perform pre-operation inspections to verify that equipment is functioning correctly. Fire Caulking: Apply fire-resistant caulking to designated areas to maintain fire barriers and prevent the spread of fire. Ensure that caulking materials meet fire safety codes and standards. Inspect and repair existing caulking to maintain effective fire resistance. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of punch press machines. Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with equipment and materials. Report major malfunctions or equipment failures to the maintenance team. Quality Control: Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to achieve desired results. Document and report any discrepancies or quality issues to the supervisor. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure fire caulking tasks comply with relevant fire safety codes and regulations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant training is a plus. Previous experience working with punch press machines or in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with fire caulking or knowledge of fire safety codes is highly desirable. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and machine operation. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Proficient in using measurement tools and gauges. Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. POSITION SUMMARY Assembles Mechanical products and mechanical assemblies to meet drawing specifications, working at bench or on shop floor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes basic assembly techniques to assemble components correctly. Uses hand tools, powered drivers, torque wrenches, and other basic hand tools. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners as required by drawing specifications. Ability to learn to recognize potential quality deficiencies in assemblies and notifies department lead of such concerns. Assisting the plant with shipping and receiving activities. Operates drill presses, arbor presses, or various other machines to assist in assembly operation. Performs basic quality assurance functions to ensure sub-assemblies meet specifications. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Assists with loading and unloading large crates of product. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
