Putting some intention out into the universe … Singer/guitarist, 30s, recently out of a gigging string-band, looking to start something new. Hoping to find a male & female singer/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist (slide guitar, fiddle, mandolin, upright bass, etc.) ... though three singers/guitarists would be great too. Goal: a gigging acoustic duo/trio with tight harmonies, love for the songs, and *fun* along the way (so many bands forget to hang out and have fun). Really looking to focus on building tight harmonies, which are rare these days. Random Influences: Burrito Bros., Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Gram & Emmylou, Townes, Cactus Blossoms, Wilco, Phish, Kurt Vile, Grateful Dead, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Ween, Burney Sisters, Mapache, Mr. Blotto, John Prine, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, The Handsome Family, Chet Atkins, The Highwaymen, Bobby Bare, Hoyt Axton, Herb Alpert, The Growlers, Iron & Wine, etc., etc. Based in Berwyn / Oak Park / Riverside. Very close to Chicago. Very 420 friendly. Can host practice most evenings and weekends. Weekly (or more) practice would be awesome! Open to jamming, writing, rehearsing, gigging, and seeing where it goes. I have tons of contacts in the scene and at music joints all over, so getting gigs will be easy when we're ready. • ***Not seeking jobbers.*** • Not interested in being in your backup band as part of your musical project; you're not Bob Dylan, and I don't have time for egotists. • I don't care who you've played with, where you've played, where you've studied music, or how many tracks/albums you've put out. People who send a résumé won't match the vibe. • I want a band of our *own* creation that grows together; not a band that's lifting up some washed-up egotist's solo-project grand ideas. If you're cool and into the artists I mentioned above, we'll probably get along great. If this sounds like your thing, shoot me a message.
