We’re now looking for our first Financial Analyst to join our team and take ownership of financial planning and analysis, SaaS metrics, and operational finance. This is a high-impact role where you’ll be the go-to finance partner for the business—working closely with leadership, sales, and marketing teams to ensure we’re running a disciplined and data-driven operation. As the Financial Analyst, you will: Financial Planning & Budgeting Build, manage, and maintain company budgets, including department-level budgets. Reconcile actual vs. target budgets and provide variance analysis. Partner with team leaders to review and approve budgets on a monthly basis. SaaS Metrics & Analytics Create, track, and report on core SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, retention, expansion, CAC, LTV, etc.). Provide monthly and quarterly dashboards that drive executive decision-making. Analyze pipeline, bookings, renewals, and customer trends to ensure sustainable growth. Cash Flow & Forecasting Build and maintain cash flow forecasts to ensure strong liquidity and predictability. Model financial scenarios to support executive and board-level decisions. Marketing ROI & Spend Alignment Work with the marketing team to track ROI across campaigns. Drive alignment between financial goals and marketing spend efficiency. Tools & Data Integrity Manage financial reporting through Salesforce, Excel, and Google Sheets. Ensure data cleanliness, accuracy, and alignment across systems. Operational Finance & Administration Support payroll, vendor invoices, accounts payable/receivable reconciliation. Assist with compliance, audits, and financial record-keeping. Own end-to-end reporting processes that keep leadership informed and accountable. Requirements 2–4 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), ideally in a SaaS or recurring revenue environment. Strong understanding of SaaS metrics (retention, churn, expansion, CAC, LTV, gross margin, Rule of 40, etc.). Experience creating budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, modeling). Hands-on experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/ERP systems. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills—you can explain financial insights clearly to non-finance teammates. Monitor and report on variances, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure financial sustainability. Reviews the quality of budget and financial data to identify data quality issues, identify data gaps, ensure compliance with financial policies and reconcile budget balances.  Contribute to the development and implementation of recommendations to conform with budgetary policies and achieve financial objectives.   Compiles budget and other financial data in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports and analyses to develop meaningful and useful reports for stakeholders both on a periodic and ad-hoc basis.  Develops briefing materials for senior executives by utilizing financial modeling and data analytic tools to analyze data and produce financial summaries.  Contributes to solicitation preparation and management, tracking of deliverables and milestones, maintaining schedule and calendar, meeting support, preparation of correspondence, and maintaining files. Support relationship management with client, senior executives, and both internal and external stakeholders (e.g., other departments, consultants, vendors, etc.). Provides recommendations on technical approaches to accomplish project objectives for complex or large programs including meeting cadence, budgeting or financial approaches, project timelines, resource needs, communication strategies, and data management. May contribute to selection or implementation of technologies that support financial and budgeting activities, developing automated forecasting and reporting tools to increase productivity.  Requirements Minimum Education and Experience  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, Masters degree preferred  6 years of relevant experience Basic Requirements  Previous experience supporting a Government Research agency (ARPA-H, DARPA, ONR, R&E, AFRL, etc.) in government program financial and administrative support.   Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and data analytic tools, as well as relevant systems for financial, accounting, property management, reporting, and other related systems.  Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and federal regulations.  Demonstrated knowledge of organizational policies and regulations that may impact budgeting and financial compliance. Experience in developing, organizing, forecasting, and maintaining financial budgets and tracking technical and financial milestones.  Experience in creating and coordinating budget and acquisition funding documents and has knowledge/competence in analysis is required.  Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other MS Office products. Excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle a wide variety of tasks, including briefing support and general administration.  To be successful at Ripple Effect, you must be able to pay attention to details, clearly communicate, work independently, and have an eagerness to learn.
