This position supervises patient care to ensure quality nursing care is given throughout the facility. Supervises all personnel who deliver direct patient services. Supports the hospital and program philosophy of care to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient. Oversees all nursing units to ensure all patient needs are met. Responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for all patients. Supervises and coordinates work of licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel on all units. Assists with orientation, training and development, performance management, and employee relations issues. Serves as administrative authority for the smooth function of the facility on assigned shift. Notifies CEO, CNO, or ADON of urgent concerns during the shift. Works with the CNO to determine the optimal allocation of staff, per shift on each unit. Assures that staffing is in place and reassigns staff according to unit needs.
