Yama Sushi Marketplace (SGV) - Cashier (San Gabriel)

Position Summary: The Cashier is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient operations while delivering exceptional guest service. As a key front-facing team member, the Cashier sets the tone for the guest experience by providing a warm, energetic, and knowledgeable presence. This role supports overall store operations by assisting with cleanliness, order accuracy, and communication between guests and kitchen staff. Full time and Part time positions available Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and third-party payment systems - Greet all guests with a friendly, professional attitude and provide prompt service - Guide guests through the food offerings and answer questions about ingredients - Ensure all orders are entered correctly and communicated clearly to the kitchen - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, beverage shelves, condiment counters, and front-of-house areas - Replenish service items including napkins, utensils, takeout containers, and cups as needed - Monitor order pick-up area and ensure guests receive complete and accurate orders - Handle guest complaints or concerns calmly and escalate when necessary to the shift lead or manager - Maintain pantry/snack/refrigerator/freezer retail spaces and restock items as needed - Perform opening/ closing cashier duties including cash drawer counts & reconciliation - Follow all food safety, hygiene, and company operational standards Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Strong customer service orientation with a positive, can-do attitude - Basic math skills - Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and prevent errors - Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support other roles when needed - Clear communication skills and professional demeanor Physical Requirements - Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) - Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs - Repetitive hand and arm motions; occasional bending and reaching - Use of cleaning products and handling of food and beverages Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred - Valid Food Handler’s Card (required or obtained within 30 days of employment) - Prior cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required Disclaimer: The duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
