Our restaurant is rooted in seasonal, ingredient-driven cooking with a focus on California’s bounty, warm hospitality, and a creative, ever-evolving menu. About the Role As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with our Chef de Cuisine to lead the kitchen team, maintain our high standards of execution, and contribute to menu development. You’ll help oversee daily operations, manage prep and service flow, ensure quality control, and train and inspire staff. This is a hands-on role for a working chef who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities • Assist Chef de Cuisine in all aspects of kitchen management • Supervise and support line cooks, prep team, and dish staff • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes • Participate in menu planning and seasonal specials • Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost control • Enforce health, safety, and cleanliness standards • Lead by example during service, ensuring efficiency and positivity Qualifications • 3+ years in a leadership role in a professional kitchen • Strong understanding of seasonal, scratch cooking • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team • Experience with ordering, inventory, and cost management • Passion for food, hospitality, and ongoing learning Schedule & Compensation • Full-time, evenings and weekends required • Competitive salary based on experience • Benefits include staff meals, dining discounts, and PTO If you’re a talented, driven chef looking to grow with a restaurant that values creativity, collaboration, and quality, we’d love to hear from you.
