Counter Staff wanted for Avenue Bread (Bellingham)

Come join the Avenue Bread team! Downtown Avenue Bread are looking for front of house staff. They run with a crew of 5-7 people each day. No one has an assigned area of focus, so you’ll essentially act as a support for one another when things get busy by stepping in where needed, restocking, etc. Since we are a small group, we all pride ourselves on having each-others back, communication, and most of all kindness. Life is stressful enough that we want work to be a place where it doesn’t need to be. We won't sugar coat it, when it's busy, you'll work up a sweat and its difficult to determine where you’re needed most at times. However, the work environment, comradery, and tips will hopefully leave you feeling rewarded from all the hard work. As management, we do our best to support our staff with whatever is needed to help you all succeed and value the relationship we have with you all as well. We’re also a breakfast; lunch spot so if you value a work/life balance, you’ll love closing at 4pm and having the whole evening to yourself! We're looking for: • Min. 1 year restaurant or barista experience • Experience with coffee/espresso is a big help (we will train you, so don’t feel nervous if this isn’t you) • Experience with POS systems • Strong communication skills • Multitasking and Awareness are skills we need you to possess… did you overhear that the person on register needed coffee? Help your coworker out and grab it ahead of time. See that a customer has half a sandwich left? Grab them a to-go box. The little things matter and leave people feeling supported and we LOVE that for everyone. • Independent worker (keeping your section stocked and clean) while also a team player (supporting coworkers when they’re busy) • Understanding of the benefit of setting yourself and your team up for success • Strong & welcoming customer service *required*…we don’t want a kiosk. We want your fun personality! Responsibilities Include: • Greeting customers and guiding them through our large menu • Taking orders through our POS system accurately/ cash handling • Maintaining clean work environment behind and outside of the counter • Pre-bussing, constant maintenance of dining room & restroom, etc. • Preparing coffee/espresso drinks to order • Running out coffee/food orders and always pre-bussing on your way back in • Restocking of supplies for dining room and behind the counter • Aiding in dishes and putting them away during down time Skills Needed: - Works well in a team - Time management - Natural sense of urgency - Takes initiative and helps others - Enjoys a fast-paced environment - Punctual to shifts - Positive attitude Wage Range: $18.66-19.00 If this sounds like you, please send an email with your resume to iwanttoworkatab@gmail.com!
