Employment Specialist (watsonville)

Make a difference in our community! Organization: Community Life Services We are a community benefit organization serving adults with disabilities and our community. We support people to develop strong life skills through training and instruction in the areas of customized employment, employment discovery, employment experience, continuing education and community living. Position: Specialist The position specializes in the area of community, education and employment services. Hours vary based on client need and may include occasional evenings and weekends. We have 2 newly developed positions available. The primary focus of the Specialist is to: 1. Assess strengths, capabilities, and skills and provide customized instruction to build important community and life skills. 2. Provide training and instructional support for people with disabilities to have success establishing specific continuing education and employment goals. 3. Develop customized volunteer and paid work opportunities based on client preferences and career goals with local area businesses. 4. Provide technical and functional accommodation consultation to employers and community. 5. Excellent customer service that focuses on the person being served. 6. Documentation of training provided including data collection and progress reports. Qualifications / Education: The successful Specialist is reliable, energetic, professional, strategic and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Requirements include: * Satisfactory oral and written communication, math, and computer skills. * Excellent organizational skills. * College degree and two years experience working with people with disabilities is preferred. * Job development experience or training preferred. * The ability to maintain First Aid and CPR certification. * This position requires a California drivers license, a good driving record, and a registered and insured vehicle. * Clearance through the Department of Justice. * COVID-19 Vaccine required.
