The Opportunity We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to join our Admissions and Clinical Services team. In this full-time, on-site role, you will serve as the first point of contact for new clients, conducting intake screenings, gathering essential information, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth and timely admissions. This is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on client care and recovery in a supportive, mission-driven environment. What You’ll Do Client & Clinical Support Greet clients, families, and referral sources with professionalism and empathy. Conduct intake interviews, collecting demographic, clinical, and insurance information. Explain program expectations, policies, and procedures to clients and families. Collaborate with clinical and medical staff to coordinate admissions and initial service needs. Identify urgent client needs and escalate appropriately for assessment or intervention. Assist with scheduling assessments, orientations, and initial treatment services. Administrative Support Verify insurance coverage and communicate financial requirements to admissions/finance staff. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational protocols. Communicate with referral sources to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions. High School Degree / Associate's Degree (preferred) AOD and MH treatment knowledge (preferred) Education and training on 42CFR/HIPAA. CPR/First aid training. Phone systems and operating interoffice intercoms. Eligibility and risk factors for potential clients. Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, excel and other word processing systems. Knowledge on filing and record keeping. Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology. Knowledge of workplace violence prevention. Knowledge of suicide / self-harm prevention.
