Plant People Northwest is a small, sustainable landscaping company. Our service area includes North Seattle, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, and Magnolia. We seek an experienced gardener/ horticulture grad to join our year-round crew. We’re accepting applications for part time (minimum 3 days/week) and full time. Our schedule is from 8-4, Monday through Friday (no weekends). This is a year-round position. Your daily work will include weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, fertilizing and more. You’ll also assist on installation projects from time to time. We generally do not mow lawns, except as a special favor to a client. We maintain our gardens without the use of toxic chemicals, with a focus on soil health and "right plant, right place". We pride ourselves on skillful pruning and have attended many classes with Plant Amnesty. We use mainly hand tools and only electric power tools. Our design and project team installs plantings, patios, raised beds, microspray irrigation, and more. Basic Qualifications: • Work history showing 1+ years of professional gardening experience with a Western WA, horticulture-focused company, OR a hort degree/ certification (or both!) • A working knowledge of plant and weed ID, horticulture and pruning practices. • Enthusiasm, energy, and stamina. • A cooperative, helpful, positive personality. • Adaptability with challenges, setbacks, and changes of direction. • An intuitive knowledge of how to work briskly and "look busy". • A self-directed desire to learn and grow! • Have a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites, and a smartphone for accessing our calendar and other tools. Pay and Benefits: Starting pay is $22-24 DOE. If you have ample experience/credentials and leadership qualities, we will move you into crew leadership as quickly as possible, which would come with an additional raise. Our crew lead in training make $26 and our crew leads start at $27. Bison Ridge Construction, LLC is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators with at least 3 years experience. Must have experience installing underground wet utilities including water, sewer, and storm systems. Equipment experience should include excavators, front end loaders, dozers, compactors, skid steers, etc. Bison Ridge Construction has been delivering full-service general contracting and construction management services for residential and commercial land development projects since 2010. Duties and Responsibilities • Drive, operate and maneuver heavy equipment • Read and understand plans and specifications • Read and properly interpret survey grade stakes • Always operate equipment safely including operating equipment in the vicinity of underground and overhead utilities (communication, power, natural gas, etc.) to avoid damage and injury • Properly maintain equipment including daily pre and post inspections and daily greasing • Safely operate power tools (demo saws, compaction equipment, generators, air compressors, etc.) • Work safely at all times, observing all company policies, OSHA Regulations, and site-specific requirements and policies • Must have a collaborative attitude and willingness to perform any work that is required including general labor tasks which may include shoveling, lifting, etc. • Must be able to work overtime including Saturdays • Competent Person Training in excavation preferred, not required • Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Must be physically fit and able to perform construction labor activities including: frequent use of hands, arms, legs and whole body; long periods of balance, standing or sitting; frequent walking, climbing, bending and/or lifting; constant handling of material used during the pipe installation process; heavy lifting, moving, dragging, or connecting objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to work in all weather conditions including very hot, cold and wet conditions.
