We are a small agency looking for someone with a lot of compassion and patience to provide support to adults with learning disabilities in their homes and communities. Each customer presents their own goals and challenges, and we endeavor to provide them with the assistance that they want in the manner that they want it. They may want help with things like housekeeping, grocery shopping, and going to the doctor, and may want you to help them to make friends and have some fun. Your work day may be spent with one or more customer, and you may be doing things like teaching someone to cook, helping them organize their homes, bowling, exercising at the gym, or walking in the park. You may choose to work a few hours per week or a more full schedule. Paid training is provided, as well as reimbursement for transportation costs when the customer is in your car. These positions work as members of direct care teams serving adults with serious mental illness. Primary responsibilities include supporting the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions, keeping accurate clinical documentation, providing housekeeping and meal preparation, and administering medication. If you have experience working as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA), Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client with behavioral health needs, then any of these positions may be a good fit for you! **Vocational Training Program** For applicants starting as a QMHA-R, ColumbiaCare offers a Vocational Training Program to accelerate the training, on-the-job experiential learning, and testing preparation for qualified employees to achieve the 1000 supervised hours required to complete their certification as a QMHA-I. Through this program, this certification can be achieved in as little as 6 months. This is an optional program. Vocational Training Program: Employees in the optional Vocational Training Program will have additional training expectations to meet the requirements for QMHA testing.
