Busy full service mechanic shop in Hastings On Hudson looking for an experienced A level mechanic. Candidate must be able to complete common repairs and tasks without assistance using their own tools. Responsibilities include general service and repair, brake & suspension work & diagnostics, electrical, computer & check engine light diagnostics, engine work & diagnostics on a wide range of makes and models. Must have own tool box and full set of tools. Knowledge of scan tool diagnostics and reading wiring diagrams are required. Must have drivers license. Communication, basic math, attention to detail, and reliability are all required skills. Candidate must be willing to learn and provide customer satisfaction. Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday - Friday. Paid vacation days after 6 months of employment, closed on all major holidays. Pay: $25-$35 an hour (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE). Work environment provides room to grow. Candidate will be replacing employee that is retiring after working here for 40+ years. Experience: Automotive repair: 3 years minimum, 5 preferred. ASE certifications and NY inspectors license are pluses. As stated before this is not a beginners position and must be qualified as a top level mechanic. Life Is Good Auto Spa is opening up a new location on Bainbridge Island. We will be offering premium hand washing/drying as well as three levels of automotive detailing. The individual (for now, more to come) will be responsible for both car washing/drying as well as detailing. Some experience in both is preferred, but we will be training you on all aspects of what is expected at our high standards level. You will be joining our highly experienced team of 6 yacht detailers that will be helping out at the Auto Spa as well.
