Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: mowing, edging, blowing, trimming, pruning, planting, weed removal, watering, fertilizing, digging, and raking. Must have at least 1 year of Landscape maintenance experience and know how to operate all equipment listed in job description. Job Duties • Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruners, saws. • Operate powered equipment, such as mowers, edger, blowers, trimmers, chain-saws. • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or trimmers. • Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. • Care for established lawns by thatching, aerating, weeding, edging. • Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage. • Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste. • Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring. • Advise customers on plant selection or care. • Install and spread bark dust or mulch using gardening tools and wheel barrows • Gather and remove litter from commercial projects
