PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM AIDE - Assist the preschool teacher in creating an environment to promote the growth and development of young children. Promote the health, nutrition and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Six months experience caring for preschool children preferably in a classroom environment • High school diploma or GED • Ability to work as team member with staff and parents • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds • Flexibility to work additional hours appreciated • Valid Driver's License, current auto insurance and a good driving record EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Pre-hire: Fingerprinting/Background Check Health Report Post-hire: Annual Physical/Health History CPR and First Aid Certification Food Worker Card Proof of current Driver’s License and auto insurance GENERAL INFORMATION: Location: Palmer Center Head Start and Wasilla Head Start Supervisor: Center Coordinator Schedule: 37.5 hrs/wk, part-year (45 weeks) Salary: $17.27 – $23.03 per hour DOE and education Plus benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, professional development opportunities, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contribution. Work well in collaborative team environment. Comfortable using technology and explaining it to others. Creative and efficient troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are a must.
