Forest Lake Area School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of School Bus Mechanic to join our Transportation Department. Your Role Will Include: Diagnose vehicle problems based on driver complaints and inspections. Perform repair work with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with state and factory standards. Communicate with the Shop Foreman to obtain necessary parts. Inspect vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Report immediately to the Shop Foreman if additional work is needed, repairs are unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeframe. Conduct road tests when required and refer unresolved issues to the Shop Foreman. Participate in training programs, school expectations, and district events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience or training in diesel or auto repair, or equivalent education, including hands-on experience repairing diesel vehicles such as engine repair and electrical diagnostics. CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain upon hire. Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance). Salary and Benefits: Pay Range: $23.97 – $28.69 per hour, depending on experience. Great benefits – Dental, life insurance, paid holidays, medical insurance and retirement (PERA). $250/month tool allowance.  Location & Shift Times: Transportation Center, 207 NW 6th Ave, Forest Lake, MN 55025.
