RSI has been working in communities in Minnesota since 1978 in home and community-based settings for people living with disabilities and mental illness, providing a range of services catered for individuals of all ages, identities, and abilities. We believe that all people, regardless of their disability, can live successfully in a community-based setting given the proper supports. Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance duties for RSI buildings and grounds in East Central Minnesota. This position will provide maintenance support to RSI locations in North Branch, Mora, Cambridge, Princeton, Taylors Falls, Sandstone, and surrounding cities. Scheduling requirements will include Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with occasional paid call-in shifts during night and weekend hours. There may need to be some flexibility with the hours, so it does not interfere with the lives of the individuals that live in our homes. There may also be some flexibility to work five, 8-hour shifts or four, 10-hour shifts. Wage: $20.00-$21.00 based on experience Job Duties Independently perform maintenance tasks for RSI facilities and grounds, including: Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with facility maintenance procedures, local, state, and federal codes Refurbish living areas for residents (painting, repair holes in walls, etc.) Repair or replace broken fixtures Perform routine building maintenance as directed (painting, floor care, electrical, plumbing, appliance installation and repairs, fixture replacement, caulking, etc.) Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair building mechanical systems Keep sidewalks/driveways clean, swept, shoveled, and clear of obstructions Ensure proper removal of debris from building and grounds Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, raking, trimming, and watering Carry out routine maintenance for the buildings and grounds Arrange for contract program repairs with approved area vendors Serve as a contact for local area contract vendors Perform tasks related to resident needs and functions Assist with in-house resident moves Fleet vehicle maintenance Schedule preventative maintenance for program vehicles Arrange for company vehicle repairs with approved area vendors Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of daily work. Other duties assigned Requirements: A successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience that includes the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, AC, boilers, and electrical systems). Experience in coordinating and implementing Capital Improvement Projects. All candidates must have a valid driver's license, meet company motor vehicle operator criteria, and successfully complete a background check. Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 yrs. hotel, hospital, or assisted living facility maintenance experience. Experience working independently with little or no supervision preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push or pull up to 80 lbs. using proper body mechanics and/ or available equipment. Ability to bend, kneel or climb ladders to perform maintenance tasks. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and walk up and down stairs Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions (winter and summer temperatures). Able to perform maintenance duties and operate related equipment Operate office equipment including computers.
