Batching Assistant Van Nuys, CA Full time Temp to hire Monday thru Friday - 6am to 2:30pm $19hr to $21hr depending on experience. A fast-growing company passionate about creating fresh, high-quality health and wellness beverages is seeking a motivated Batching Assistant to join their team in Van Nuys. Summary: Working as part of the Manufacturing & Operations team and under the supervision of the Chief Batching Officer, the Batching Assistant will operate equipment that blends raw materials to create food and beverage products by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to client specifications. As needed, the Batching Assistant will also cross-train as a Production Support to operate and/or assist with production lines, including but not limited to the high-speed canning/beverage production line, the bottle filling production line, powder flavor-making production line, and labeling line to create, produce and package products while working on a team. Responsibilities: • Assist, provides support, and/or carries out: Precisely stages kits and verifies physical ingredients to match the ingredients on batch sheets according to the product recipes. • Collaborate with Quality Compliance Technician on the analytical results and makes modifications or adjustments to the batches when needed (i.e. Brix, Acid, pH, color). • Ensure resulting mixture meets specified consistencies and requirements; Report any urgent quality, food safety incidents, or deviations immediately to Chief Batching Officer or Quality team for investigation and resolution. • Accurately weighing or measuring all ingredients per formulation. • Accurately documents lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas per customer regulations. Quality • Perform set-up of batching area, including tools and equipment needed. • Perform physical inventory of materials before and after production and document • Communicate any ingredient availability or ingredient quality issues immediately to the Processing Supervisor. • Perform cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and fillers (CIP’s, foaming equipment and hand brushing). • Properly clean and seal all ingredient containers prior to returning to the proper ingredient storage areas. • Adhere to all food safety policies and procedures. • Operate forklift to load/move various ingredients, following all safety procedures. • Maintain general housekeeping and quality in all areas of batching, production, and any additional areas. • Accurately completes inspection sheets based on overall product quality. • Provide status report during shift handoff (batches produced, quality and results of batching) • Must have proficient knowledge of the batching flow to production. • Report non-compliance and food safety issues to management. • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, must use appropriate means to accomplish this, using pallet jack and/or forklift, as necessary. • Ability to visually inspect products and materials. Qualifications: • A high school diploma or equivalent. • 1-2 years prior experience in batching in food and beverage industry. • Able to be physically active for the duration of the workday. • Forklift experience.
