We provide full time and flexible part-time work. The requirements are that you must have reliable transportation, be a motivated individual and be a dependable person. Experience is helpful but not required. Bilingual is helpful but not required. CPR/First Aid is required, however it can be done within the first 30 days of hiring. Medical Assistant – Full Time (Non-Exempt) Pay Range: $17.00 – $24.00 per hour Position Summary The Medical Assistant supports cardiology providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure high-quality patient care. This role assists in diagnostic testing, documentation, patient preparation, and office operations to provide exceptional treatment in a fast-paced cardiology specialty practice. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties: • Obtain patient medical histories, record vital signs, and complete lab requisitions. • Accurately perform diagnostic procedures including, but not limited to: o 12-lead electrocardiograms (EKGs) o Finger Stick – for Prothrombin Time • Prepare patients for stress tests, Holter monitor placement, and event monitoring. • Assist with echocardiogram setup and documentation (as needed). • Monitor and document patient responses during cardiac procedures, reporting concerns to providers promptly. • Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas, including cleaning, stocking, and preparing equipment. • Provide chaperone support during patient examinations. • Assist with language translation for patients and providers, if fluent in additional languages. • Perform other clinical tasks as assigned to meet organizational needs. Administrative Duties: • Answer phones, schedule and confirm cardiology appointments, and manage patient flow. • Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and coordination of diagnostic testing. • Enter and review data, including referral contracts and post-appointment information. • Review and edit medical reports for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and consistency. • Retrieve diagnostic test results and ensure proper scanning into the software system. • Coordinate with providers and operational staff to ensure timely and accurate report submissions. • Assist with preparation and delivery of reports across multiple business lines. • Perform additional administrative tasks as required. Skills and Qualifications • Strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities. • Excellent customer service and professional communication skills. • Proficiency with computers, electronic health records (EHR), and cardiology-specific diagnostic software. • Attention to detail and quality focus in a fast-paced environment. • Flexibility, time management, and ability to follow instructions effectively. Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. • 1–2 years of prior experience in a medical office required; prior experience in cardiology highly preferred. Physical and Mental Requirements • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, strong decision-making and judgment skills. • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, and hear; frequent reaching with hands and arms. • Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or lift up to 20 pounds. • Visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
