After-School Early Childhood Assistant (Woodinville)

Our campuses in Bothell and Woodinville, WA, serve a diverse community of lifelong learners, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team. The Early Childhood Assistant will work in a collaborative team setting and be given opportunities to develop the competencies needed to support the children's development of independence, concentration, coordination, and organizational skills that are a direct or indirect aim of many of the class activities. The emphasis on respect for people and things that permeates all interactions also helps the children to develop self-control and well-rounded social skills. The Bothell campus is conveniently located off I-405 just north of State route 522. The Woodinville campus is conveniently located two blocks south of downtown Woodinville, off State route 202. This part-time, academic year position starts as soon as possible, with the hours of Monday – Friday 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the Woodinville campus. IDEAL CANDIDATE You will: Possess keen awareness of the functioning of the whole while also paying attention to individual and small group needs. Be committed to excellent communication with students, staff, and the school leadership team. Exhibit a high degree of organization and attention to detail and an understanding of how to convey this to students. Demonstrate a deep understanding of current research in human development and learning in support of the Montessori educational approach and enjoyment of children. Contribute positively to the school community beyond the job specific tasks, including active cross-level collaboration with a can-do attitude. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree is preferable. Two or more years’ classroom experience is preferable. Commitment to professional development and best practices in education. Commitment to meeting the needs of each student. WA State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) for Child Care Center: Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Qualifications (Preferred. Will provide training for the right candidate.) Including but not limited to: DCYF background check, TB test, High school diploma, Childcare basics, First Aid/ CPR, Blood-borne pathogens training. SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary range is $21 - $24 per hour, dependent on education, training, and experience.
