Our solution generates AI-powered actions and insights using off-the-shelf hardware or existing vision systems for real-impact manufacturing problems in products and equipment inspection, production efficiency, safety, and more.  What You'll Do  As a Project Engineer at Maneva, you’ll be the driving force behind transforming cutting-edge AI into real-world impact. You will design, install, and integrate machine vision systems from the ground up — enabling manufacturers to identify defects (like imperfect chocolate bars) and optimize operations using Maneva's technology. From vision setup to PLC integration, from wiring to network configuration, you will make our AI come alive on the line.  This role blends deep technical execution, customer interaction, and project leadership. You’ll travel to manufacturing sites, embed yourself into operations, and own full-cycle deployments that span electrical, mechanical, software, and networking scopes.  Travel: Up to 50% (35%+ in territory, 15%+ out-of-territory), including travel across North America Requirements Key Responsibilities  Take project ownership, architect and execute full-scale customer projects from design proposal through implementation, facilitating smooth customer transitions and supporting post-deployment operations  Design and orchestrate AI vision system implementations by analyzing application requirements and generate hardware BOM for camera, lens, lighting, and compute component sourcing  Communicate regularly with customers and internal stakeholders – both onsite directly in person and remotely on a regular basis throughout the project life cycle  Design and integrate AI vision systems with PLCs and existing industrial automation infrastructure, while considering the physical operation of the overall application in a manufacturing environment  Navigate onsite networking and deploy software applications on Linux-based edge devices  Design signal integration and wiring for communication with sensors, I/O, and control systems  Support plant walk-throughs and site assessments to identify high-impact AI use cases in the pre-sales process  Provide onsite support and coordination for data collection effort in live production environments for training vision models  Troubleshoot on-site hardware and software issues and iterate on deployments rapidly based on real-world operational results  Deliver hands-on training to plant operators and managers  Document deployment configurations, learnings, and system performance for both internal use and customer value stories  What We're Looking For  Must-Haves  Degree in Electromechanical, Systems Design, Industrial Engineering or a related field – or have equivalent technical industry experience  Prior industry experience in industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, automotive, or a related field  Proven ability to handle projects in both project owner and individual contributor capacity, directly engaged with external customers for project coordination and feedback, and design production-level systems  Experience with electrical wiring design, mechanical design, and system integration  Ability to work independently in the field and manage complex deployments  Excellent communication and project coordination skills  Nice-to-Haves  Experience in image processing, video streaming, and/or real-time AI inference pipeline  Comfortability with software development in Linux using Python, Docker, Git, operating on edge devices (i.e. Jetson series)  Experience with industrial camera and image transport protocols (e.g. GenICam)  Experience with PLC integration (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet) and control systems  Experience with networking  Experience with IoT deployment and fleet management  Exposure to AI/ML workflows and working with data curation and annotated datasets  Prior experience in food & beverage, CPG, or packaging environments  Experience in startup environments or cross-functional hardware/software product teams  Benefits Why Join Maneva?  Work with cutting-edge Vision AI & IoT solutions that power autonomous manufacturing, robotics, and industrial automation​.  Opportunity to lead in a fast-growing AI company driving real-world impact in industrial AI adoption​.  Travel opportunities to industrial sites, tech conferences, and research labs.  Collaborate with world-class engineers & AI experts in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.  Important Notice: Protecting Your Personal Information  We are committed to ensuring the security and privacy of all applicants. USCG Licensed Assistant Engineer

Assistant Engineers work under the direction, guidance, and training of the Chief Engineer to assist in operation, maintenance and repair the vessel’s operating systems: diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical and hydraulic equipment, water making and sanitary equipment, deck machinery, factory equipment, pumps, cooling, and conveyor systems during the portion of their shift scheduled in the engine room. Assistant engineers, under the direction of the Chief Engineer, may maintain the engine room and other logs as required by the company or other agencies. Assistant Engineers also assist in fueling the vessel and transferring fuel onboard. Essential Duties Assistant Engineers must be able to: Work under the direction, guidance, and training of the chief engineer. Assist in operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel’s operating systems: diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical and hydraulic equipment, water making and sanitary equipment, deck machinery and fish hauling equipment, factory equipment, pumps, cooling, and conveyor systems. Perform work assignments under the direction of the chief engineer. Assist in transfer bulk petroleum products. Maintain an inventory control system. Under oversight of the chief engineer, prepare department records and reports as required by the company, USCG, OSHA and other agencies. Oversee a safety program. Ensure all engineering crew are trained and fully cognizant of the job hazards. Ensure LOCK OUT-TAGS PLUS procedures are communicated, followed, and enforced. Resolve technical problems as they occur. Give specific directions in the case of an emergency. Work Schedule Assistant engineers work at least 13 hours per day, 7 days per week. Work hours may be extended as necessary which may result in uneven shifts and sleep patterns. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, employees and the vessel will be operating in extremely remote and austere locations; often days away from land or dock facilities. While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to wear protective clothing and equipment such as rain gear (pants and sleeves), gloves, rubber boots, noise suppression devices, and use as required: hardhat, safety goggles, fire extinguisher, respirator, life preserver and survival suit. Employees will be exposed to various species of fish; wet, humid and freezing conditions; fish processing equipment such as headers, movable and stationary conveyor systems, knives, hoists, pressure washers, cleaning chemicals, shovels, buckets, baskets and aluminum pans. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees work onboard a vessel in the ocean which by nature produces varying degrees of motion in the factory. While performing the duties of this job, Engineers are regularly exposed to moving machinery, vibration, and risk of electrical shock. Requirements Education, Experience USCG 3rd Assistant License Unlimited or higher. Engine room experience on a catcher processor vessel preferred. Earned High School Diploma or GED. Education verification will be required prior to hire. 24 months or more of relevant verifiable work experience in the last 4 years. Work history must be provided during the application process. No Exceptions. Physical Demands All employees must be able to: Board and exit the vessel by gangplank or Jacob’s ladder without assistance. Board or exit a skiff without assistance in all weather conditions. Ascend and descend steep stairways and ladders in all temperatures. Work at least 16 ½ hours per day, 7 days per week for the duration of the contract. Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. Stand and walk; lift weights up to and over 50 pounds for full range from floor to above their head repeatedly. Use fingers, hands and arms to push, pull and reach. Bend and twist. Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Work long hours in all kinds of weather. Work in a cold and wet environment. Don life jacket, life vest and/or survival suit without assistance.
