This Sienna has the Journey’s Offroad lift installed for an additional 4 inches of clearance. It continues to get around 20mpg. The van comes with a custom, simple cabinet and twin size futon for use as a camper van. It also has all stock seats installed for passengers as well, so you can use it as you like. “Mobie” the van has a hitch installed with a swing-arm mount and a full size spare tire, all with locking hitch pins and attachments. I used this to travel and adventure across WA and the west and now my needs have shifted so it’s time to pass Mobie along! I have maintained this van attentively. The differential was recently making noise and I replaced the electric motor attached to it and resolved the issue. The only thing on the radar is to watch the CV joints. These wore out a year or so after it was lifted and the shop used aftermarket CV joints for the repair because they are significantly cheaper. I learned after this that Journeys Offroad (who has excellent customer service and educational materials) advises you should use the OEM parts from Toyota because the shape tolerates the lift better long term. These will likely need to be replaced but so far they are doing ok. I have moved on to a Rav4 for better gas mileage (though apparently nearly the same engine as this van!) but I will always have fond memories of adventures with this mini camper!
