Huge Cast Iron Open End Wrenches (4-1/4") (5") - $125 (Richmond, VA)

These are two (2) heavy duty & heavy in weight cast iron wrenches. One has a 4-1/4"-4-1/2" wide open end the other has a 5" wide open end. Each has about a 36" long cast iron handle. At my age these are getting to be a challenge for me to lift by the cast iron handle. That is the longest cast handle I have ever seen. Every cast wrench shown on EBAY has about an 20"max. handle and none have open ends this large. Quite a conversation can be had as to where these came from and what they were originally used for. Railroad Industry Train Wheel or Rail Wheels? Aggregate Industry Truck Hauling ? I do not have the answer, but one has a letter cast into the side that I think might connect it to Caterpillar in some way. The castings look good- very little major damage can be seen. I do not know their age. I would love to know their history. Display them in your personal shop or garage or your business vehicle repair business and they will get noticed for sure. They were left in the basement of our home. Every previous owner of the house probably just left them in the basement for the next owner of the house to figure out what to do with them.
