Currently, we are seeking an experienced individual to help assist with quality assurance and control measures at lumber manufacturing locations across Washington, Oregon, and California. In this position, you will inspect materials, audit manufacturing processes, coach mill management teams in best practices to improve profitability and products to meet both grade specifications and customer satisfaction. This position requires honest and ethical conduct, fostering respectful relations, and achieving maximum levels of profitability. Travel will be required, and the successful applicant can be based from one of our divisions in California, Oregon, or Washington. About the Position Assist in managing lumber and grade recovery and optimization programs for Company locations across Washington, Oregon, and California Work closely with local management teams to improve profitability of mills, and to ensure products meet both grade specification and customer requirements Promote safe workplace practices, promote safety awareness, and lead by example Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with material grades, and recovery, utilizing working knowledge of product line and material usage Continually train on best maintenance and utilization of production optimization systems to maximize lumber values, grade, and recovery Maintain a strong working relationship with Supervisors and Managers across the Company Work closely with mill management and sales teams on process improvements, new product development, and customer feedback issues Help ensure lumber quality and grade maximize value through lumber graders and optimizing scanners Qualifications 2 years’ experience in lumber quality control using optimizing scanners High degree of knowledge and experience working with optimization technology Strong experience working with computer software/hardware, installing operating and networking systems Certified grader in at least one category: Commons, Shop, Select, and all NGR grades Experience working with a grading association Full understanding of grading association rule book Proven commitment to safety and Company policy Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities under demanding circumstances Proficient in documentation, workflow, math computation, and computer technology Why Join Our Team? About the Position Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing facility Maintain all components required to control machinery, including switches, sensors, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and operate interface units Recognize and effectively identify hazards and correct electrical defects Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment Inspect and maintain motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, and lighting Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical installations Install electrical conduit and pull wire Maintain efficiency and safety of all plant electrical circuits, assembles, and equipment Troubleshoot and install encoders, linear transducers, vision systems, and other advanced sensors Identify and help implement process improvements to optimize performance and production Effectively troubleshoot issues for best resolution while staying calm in stressful situations Communicate effectively, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area Work may consist of overtime during busy production times Qualifications 2 years’ recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education Licensed through the state of Oregon to perform electrical work Understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three-phase power, running conduit, lighting, electrical, and hydraulic systems required Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and their programming, preferable Read and understand blueprints and circuit diagrams Why Join Our Team?
