We have a bedroom and private bathroom available in our centrally-located, three-bedroom Northampton apartment beginning November 1st, 2025. Rent for the room and bathroom is $710.00 per month plus utilities (electricity, gas, internet, and compost split between three housemates). About the Apartment: The "Treehouse" is a unique and much loved apartment with a long history of providing a safe, welcoming space to all those who live in it. We have a spacious sunny kitchen with a gas stove, dishwasher, two sinks (!), and a window-filled breakfast nook; a huge living room that includes a loft space with skylights; two full bathrooms; and rustic hardwood floors throughout. There is off-street parking in front of the apartment, a washer and dryer in the building, and responsive landlords who completed an extensive renovation to the exterior of the building a few years ago (including new siding, windows, and roof). The apartment is ideally located, right on the edge of Smith Campus and a 5 minute walk from downtown and the Academy of Music bus stop. About Your Room: The largest room in the apartment is a comfortable size, with room for a full or queen bed, desk, and/or small sofa. It has a deep closet, hardwood floors, and many windows that bring in lots of morning light. The bathroom is just one door over from the bedroom. It has plentiful storage shelves, a large standing shower, and the door to the fire escape. About Your Housemates: We value both shared living and independence. We believe in the values have been passed on through this cherished apartment: a vision of peaceful, communal living. The apartment is meant to be a safe space for those who reside here. We enjoy hosting game nights, friend dinners, and wish for the space to feel open and welcoming to guests. We often interact through kitchen chats, but also value quiet time after a long day. We are looking for a housemate who shares this vision of communal living. Nicole (cis she/her) – I am in my late twenties working as community planner while I finish grad school at UMass. My busy semester schedule keeps me out of the apartment the majority of the time (usually 6:30am until 10pm). When I have more free time in the summer, I love hiking, random crafting, and binge-watching tv shows. I cherish having friends over for movie nights and other social things, with an open invitation for housemates of course. I value keeping shared spaces neat and clutter-free. I hope to find a kind and considerate housemate who is respectful of us and the spaces we share. Bri– I’m a therapist in my mid 20’s, As a person, I love camping, reading, going to concerts, working out, and garbage tv shows. I’m a foodie—i love to cook and go out to eat. I’m a meditator of 6 years. Social work, social justice, and wellness—these are my greatest passions in life. As a roommate: I am tidy, respectful, and approachable. I prefer to have tidy shared spaces. I like to listen to some music in the shower or before a night out on a Friday or Saturday, but I’m otherwise pretty quiet and value my down time. Accessibility: The apartment is on the third floor, up two flights of stairs, with no elevator. There are steps onto a porch to enter the house, three steps up from the front door, two steps in the hallway leading to the kitchen, and wooden lips on the entrance to several rooms. Housemates are welcome to add signage to the house. Please let us know if we can provide additional information.
