We are a NY deli in Asheville that bakes for both the deli and a sister restaurant downtown. We're looking for a individual to assist part-time with our baker. We make all of our pastries, desserts, and breads. This will be about 20 hours a week. Assistant to Pastry Chef responsibilities include: -Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes -Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers -Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting -The ideal candidate will have at least some baking or kitchen experience. Must be good at following directions and taking feedback. ----They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving. Requirements: -Proven experience as a baker or kitchen experience -Great attention to detail and creativity -Organizing and listening skills -Willingness to replenish professional knowledge -In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition -Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.) -Available to work on weekends We're a Chef Owned restaurant. We are looking for a highly personable and enthusiastic bakery assistant to assist us at our baked goods counter. Your duties will include selling our baked goods to customers, managing baked goods and ingredient inventories, decorating cookies and donuts, and taking control of the daily cleanup procedures at the bakery. Previous experience in serving customers in a bakery environment preferred. Proficiency in weighing, pricing, packaging, and processing payments of baked goods. Ability to manage ingredient inventories and to track expiry dates. A keen eye for detail and the ability to create visually appealing displays of baked goods. Advanced ability to multitask and follow instructions given by bakers. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Looking for experienced prep cook and dishwasher to join our busy seafood and cocktail bar. Ideal candidate will be able to maintain clean works spaces and keep up with assisting line cooks with necessary prep while also keeping dish pit clean and organized. Will be comfortable cleaning and or prepping outside of kitchen on occasion as well as assisting line with restocking products during service, getting ice from the ice machines and helping keep FOH stocked with glassware and silverware. Candidate must also be willing to learn how to shuck oysters and occasionally assist raw bar.
