Hopvine Pub is your neighborhood Capitol Hill Pub serving amazing local beers and great food. We put freshness first by making everything small batch. Ideal candidates can: 1. rock it when it s slow or busy 2. follow directions 3. get everything done without supervision 4. follow proper food handling rules 5. pick up shifts as needed 6. help on the floor and behind bar as needed. We are looking for a happy, positive, people-oriented person to join our team! Everyone is cross-trained to bartend to help out where needed when it s busy. We are small and do many things in nontraditional ways (like cooking everything in a pizza oven) that we're more like a quirky cafe than a restaurant or bar. Must be: 21 or older, able to lift 50lbs, able to stand for up to 10 hours a day, able to climb ladders and be comfortable in small spaces with close proximity to others. Entry level kitchen shifts start at $20.76 plus $15-$20/hour in tips plus PTO. Staff food/drink discount. Hours: 20 hours/week. Current shift openings are Sunday and Tuesday 12-10pm. These days are non-negotiable. Please be available for occasional coverage for other employees. Successful completion of probationary period opens options for more hours and responsibilities including making specials and desserts. Description of the Role The Line Cook at Ends Meat is an integral part of the kitchen team, responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely manner while maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe environment. This role requires an individual who can work efficiently, follow recipes and kitchen procedures, and contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen during service. The Line Cook is responsible for setting up and breaking down the kitchen, prepping ingredients, executing food orders, and maintaining high sanitation and food safety standards. This role requires a strong ability to multitask, work under pressure, and uphold Ends Meat’s commitment to quality and sustainability. The Line Cook reports directly to the Retail Operations General Manager and is expected to work collaboratively with other team members in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Core Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking Set up and break down the kitchen at the start and end of each shift. Prepare assigned ingredients, including sauces, soups, sandwiches, and other dishes. Execute food orders efficiently, ensuring all dishes meet quality and presentation standards. Maintain sharp and clean knives and other personal tools of the trade. Ensure all prepared foods, sauces, and ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated according to First In, First Out (FIFO) principles.
