Now Hiring: Experienced Counter Person/Barista — Mia’s Bakery (Upper East Side) Mia’s Bakery is looking for an experienced Counter Person/Barista who can move fast, stay organized, and deliver excellent service under pressure. We’re a high-volume bakery with a loyal customer base and a reputation for quality—both in our products and in how we serve them. This role is not entry-level. We need someone who’s worked a real coffee station, knows the flow of a packed service line, and understands the importance of timing, presentation, and consistency. What You’ll Do: Prepare espresso drinks and other beverages with speed and precision Greet customers, take orders accurately, and process transactions using a POS system Manage pastry and cake orders — in person, by phone, and for online pickups Keep your station clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times Restock milk, cups, pastry items, and other supplies as needed Maintain professionalism and hospitality even during busy periods What We’re Looking For: 1+ year experience as a barista and/or counter service professional Strong multitasking skills and ability to stay calm under pressure Fast, clean, and detail-oriented behind the bar Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Food handler’s certificate is a plus Friendly, sharp, and reliable — no drama Compensation: Hourly pay based on experience + tips Part-time and full-time positions available Staff discounts, paid training, opportunity for growth
