Camber - PT Kitchen Positions We are seeking 2 part time line/prep cooks to join our small kitchen team! This position starts at $18.66/hr plus tips, which vary between $7-10/hr. Tips are split evenly between BOH & FOH based on the number of hours worked per day. Benefits include shift drinks & meals, free bag of coffee biweekly, discounts on bagged coffee and brewing equipment, wholesale discounts, and optional health insurance & 401k. We offer paid vacation for full time (30+ hrs/week) employees after 1 year of employment. Paid sick leave accrues at 1 hour per 40 hours worked. Seeking 2 people to work between 23 - 26 hours per week each. One position requires the availability to work Friday - Monday (3 closing shifts + 1 opening shift). The other position requires the availability to work Sunday - Tuesday (3 opening shifts). Job duties include: prepping food, working the breakfast line preparing hot breakfast sandwiches, toasts, salads, etc, handing off food to customers and addressing the occasional question or concern, opening & closing down the line, maintaining excellent kitchen organization & cleanliness, assisting in kitchen cleaning tasks, washing dishes, prepping pastry components & bar syrups, baking and stocking pastries, communicating frequently throughout the day with fellow BOH employees as well as FOH, working with a POS system to keep food & pastry pars correct, following set pars and a daily prep sheet for prepping/stocking, following systems & standards as set by the kitchen manager & general manager. Applicants must: be 21+ be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs enjoy working in the kitchen be able to work quickly & efficiently in a small space with others possess an eye for consistency & detail be an excellent communicator maintain a sense of urgency be comfortable switching gears & adapting to the changing daily flow of kitchen work be self-directed, focused, and able to multitask be willing to maintain very high standards of cleanliness & organization possess a WA state food handler’s permit and MAST certification (or ability to obtain) Camber’s kitchen is currently open from 8am - 12pm daily. We are excited to hire 2 new folks so that we can expand hours to 8am - 2pm from Friday - Sunday each week! The earliest shift start time is 6am, and the latest shift end time is 4pm. Our team is very tight-knit and it’s important to us to find the right candidate. We interview in a 2-step process beginning with a sit-down interview with our kitchen manager and general manager. This is then followed by a paid 2 hour working interview. Upon hiring, the initial 90 days of employment are considered a probationary period for both parties to confirm a good fit. Food & beverage industry experience is a plus for this position, but we are absolutely willing to train the right people.
