Job Title: Moscow Axe Throwing Venue Host
Job Type: Part-Time / On-Call (Fall & Winter)
Hours: Flexible scheduling, generally between 12 PM â 12 AM (seasonal variations)
Compensation: Hourly wage + tips
Minimum Age: 21+ (must be able to serve and consume alcohol)
About Us:
Weâre not just another axe-throwing spotâweâre one of the top venues in the nation, thanks to our unique mix of weapons, expert coaching, and next-level guest perks. For 3 years, weâve thrived by making every visit unforgettable: whether itâs snapping action shots for guests, offering exclusive upgrades, or teaching first-timers to stick a perfect throw. Our vibe? High-energy but laid-back, where safety and fun go hand in hand.
The Role:
As a Venue Host, youâll be the heartbeat of operation and the ultimate multitasker: part coach, part bartender, part hype-person, and always the go-to problem solver. Youâll often run the venue solo, so hustle, social smarts, and attention to detail are non-negotiable. Weâll train you on axe-throwing, but your job is to own the guest experienceâwhether thatâs teaching techniques, serving drinks, or calming a waitlist on a packed night.
Responsibilities:
â Guest Experience: Coach throws (with showmanship!), snap/share action photos, and upsell perks & elevate visits.
â Solo Operations: Manage all venue functions aloneâsupervising lanes, handling cash/POS transactions (Toast), scheduling reservations and maintaining a balanced cash drawer/ledger.
â Social Calibration: Adjust your behavior on the flyâenergetic with rowdy groups, patient with beginners, and firm when setting expectations when the venue is at capacity.
â Food/Drink Service: Take orders, check IDs, and serve alcohol responsibly.
â Venue Upkeep: Conduct improvements, maintenance, and deep cleaning (target assembly, equipment checks, organizing supplies).
â Marketing Support: Capture content, post to social media accounts, pitch promotions, partner with marketing projects and hype events.
â Light Admin: Occasional paperwork, inventory tracking, ordering, report assistance & customer management.
We Prefer:
âą Live close to the venueâsomeone that lives within 5-10 minutes to the venue.
âą Schedule availabilityâsomeone that can plan availability 2 weeks in advance and has enough availability to justify putting on the schedule.
Who You Are:
âą A charismatic self-starterâyou love engaging crowds and take initiative without oversight.
âą Socially calibratedâyou read the room and adapt your tone (e.g., hyping up a competitive group vs. calming a frustrated guest).
âą A meticulous multitaskerâyou can balance drink orders, coaching, and cash handling without dropping the ball.
âą Safety-first but funâyou enforce rules without being a buzzkill.
Perks:
âą Free axe-throwing + occasional free sessions for friends/family.
âą 50% off personal food/drinks anytime (or opt for 20% off when bringing guests).
âą Flexible schedulingâideal for students or side hustles.
Requirements:
âą 21+ with ability to serve/consume alcohol.
âą Physically able to lift targets (50+ lbs) and stay active for shifts.
âą Cash-handling experience (bonus: bar/retail/hospitality background).
