Our headquarters in Emeryville is where we design, sell, and manufacture machinery that is installed all over the world. We are looking for people to join our Union workforce. We have positions for Electrical Machine Assemblers. Our machines are large but also include many smaller complex sub-assemblies. We are looking for people with electrical experience to wire up and test our machinery. We are willing to train people with little experience and have electrical know-how. Duties include pulling cable/wiring, making terminations accurately, testing & troubleshooting errors, ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, proficient with hand tools. Bending conduit is not a needed skill. The scope of work is industrial machinery, so some residential experience can be helpful but not necessary. A thorough knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 and the ability to inspect very complex and close tolerance parts required. Load and unload stock efficiently and safely. Maintain department inventory and supplies, ensuring everything is accounted for. Report any maintenance needs to the Maintenance Department promptly. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure product specifications are met. Complete all required documentation and data entry accurately and in a timely manner. Verify material conformance to specifications using measuring devices such as micrometers, tape measures and calipers. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized workspace. Verify that guards at pinch points and potential burn areas are present before operating the machine. Conduct thorough inspections to ensure the highest quality standards. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures, taking immediate action to correct safety and security issues. Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions when necessary. Required Skills & Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 6 months of experience operating production machines in a manufacturing environment. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 and normal color perception. Strong verbal and written communication in English. Ability to focus and perform precision hand movements when operating machinery. Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds and work safely around machinery. We have two shifts available. 1st shift will work Monday through Friday 6am-2pm. 2nd shift will operate Monday through Friday 2pm-10pm. This role involves handling sensitive materials and operating complex machinery for the production of high-security items. Duties & Essential Job Functions: Operate and maintain the machine, ensuring high-quality production of secure product. Follow strict security protocols to handle sensitive materials and personal data. Perform routine machine checks and maintenance to ensure optimal operation and identify any issues. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to uphold product standards and identify any defects. Document production processes and maintain accurate records of materials used and products produced.
