We are renting our upstairs room for Nov 1. You have a private staircase that leads to your room where there is also a closet (not pictured, at the top of staircase). There are two small, floor-level windows in the room. These open, and I own a portable AC unit with a remote you are welcome to use next year. I am a musician and technical analyst. I'm a boy. Our roommate is a girl in the lower room. We both enjoy conversation and are happy to socialize. Also because we are both music-oriented the apartment could be noisy sometimes, during regular hours. Since there is a half bath in my bedroom, I will only be using your shower, and I am good about doing my part to help keep it clean. The pipes in the building are narrow and old, which means they are susceptible to clogging. The toilet accepts paper but only in small amounts per flush. You will end up plunging the toilet during your first weeks here as you learn its limits. Yes, we've already brought it up to building management. No, they will not be redoing the entire building plumbing for us, they recently replaced the toilet with a new one, and that is as far as they are willing to go. If you know the neighborhood, then you already know we are surrounded by amazing food, but there are also good laundromats nearby, and the park is really close. No pets. No smoking cigarettes indoors, but weed in moderation is fine. Security deposit up front ($700), and first month's rent (700) a few days in advance of Nov and each subsequent month. Bills total around $80-120 per person. Finally, you will be signing a lease with me and the roommate. When that time comes, the management company will charge a $500 fee to be split three ways, and they want to raise the rent by as much as $100 per person. We are resistant to increases, and have been for some time. Just be aware there is a possibility they could successfully raise our rent by that amount, so while you're coming in at $900, this room could cost $700 per month at signing.
