The Eliot Hotel is a small luxury hotel and winner of numerous awards. Our guests tend to be upscale and have high expectations. We currently are interviewing candidates who seek to join our team of motivated professionals. The Bellman is a key, front of the line, guest service position. The ideal candidate would be naturally caring and enjoy helping others. Communication skills are essential, and the candidate must be articulate, well groomed and polite. The ability to work cooperatively as part of a team is essential. The position requires candidates to possess a valid driver’s license and to have a good driving record as valet functions are part of the position as well. Although previous hotel experience is helpful, it is not necessary. The right attitude and desire to provide service are the key requirements. This part-time, primarily evening, position varies between 24-40 hours/week. Flexibility to work both weekdays and weekends is required.

You must be intelligent, responsible, personable, able to work independently, proficient in Windows and Excel, and have food preparation skills. ServSafe is desirable, whether current or expired. Ideal for a homemaker, artist, or musician. You may live here while working, or commute if you live within a few minutes. This will be an ongoing gig. Our immediate need is for Sept. Oct. 8-10 and Nov. 13-20, but our previous inn-sitter worked for us on and off for 10 years. We have a 13-room inn. The breakfast is continental plus scrambled eggs, so you will prepare food but not cook it to order. We have two housekeepers -- you will need to manage their schedules, but you will not have to do any room turnovers yourself. You will be responsible for taking reservations, taking payment, interacting with guests as needed, and taking care of any problems that come up. This is hard, detail-oriented work, but it also has its advantages. Our guests are interesting and intelligent people from all over the world and from all walks of life. The nearest supermarket is about 1.5 miles away, so you can walk to it if necessary, but it would be advantageous if you can drive. We have a cat in each of our two buildings, so you will need to feed and care for them.

We are seeking reliable and self-motivated individuals to conduct inspections and occupancy checks for various banks, insurance companies, and mortgage companies. This is a 1099 position.... inspectors will be independent contractors and as a property inspector, you will be responsible for driving from home to home to complete inspections and occupancy checks.
