Hiring Bartender For Upscale Hotel Wine Bar (SOMA / south beach)
Position Overview
The Wine Bar Bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience while providing knowledgeable wine service, preparing and serving beverages, and ensuring the bar area operates smoothly. This role requires expertise in wine varietals, pairings, and presentation, as well as strong customer service and bartending skills.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wines, cocktails, and other beverages.
Accurately pour, serve, and describe wines by the glass and bottle.
Create and serve cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and standards.
Guide guests on food and wine pairings, working closely with servers and kitchen staff.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, glassware, and wine storage areas.
Monitor and manage bar inventory, restock supplies, and report low stock to management.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and follow all POS procedures.
Adhere to responsible alcohol service standards and comply with all local/state liquor regulations.
Assist in wine tastings, special events, and staff education sessions as needed.
Uphold company standards for service, presentation, and hospitality.
Qualifications
Previous bartending or wine bar experience required.
Strong knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and service techniques.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcohol.
Food Handler’s and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification (or equivalent) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine, kegs, etc.).
