The Custom Truck Builder is responsible for building, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining all types of Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment, specializing in hi-rail trucks, cranes, and other equipment related to the railroad industry. Short Electric is looking for residential journeyman to join the team. We do new construction projects, custom remodel projects for various companies, home automation, and generator installs. A little back ground on Short Electric. We are small company that has various branches of the company that people can learn and expand your knowledge so the job never gets old. We are a licensed dealer and installer of Kohler generators. We install generators from 14 kw all the way to 150 kw. We do all of the setting, mounting, install the transfer switch in the electrical system, start-up, and service of the generators. We are a licensed dealer and install of Control 4 home automation systems. This includes lighting, sound, and security systems. Items and qualities that we are looking for in a journeyman to join the team. - Valid drivers license. - Must have a clean driving record. - Must have a valid journeyman license from the State of Nebraska and City of Omaha. Must be up to date before you start work. - Hand tools. We provide the cordless tools for the projects. - Able to read blueprints. - Able to navigate the NEC for the various projects. - Able to trouble shoot new and old electrical systems. - Able to work by yourself and able to work with others. - Able to run a project from ordering parts to laying out guys for day to day tasks. - Must have a good attitude at work. - Must be able to talk to clients and general contractors when asked about the projects. - Must have a working smart phone this is how time sheets are filled out. We have a year and half worth of work on under contract right now. Job Description The Insulation Helper/Installer is an entry to mid-level crew member who supports the Lead Installer in executing spray foam insulation projects. This role is responsible for prep, setup, assistance during spray application, cleanup, and general site support to ensure jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards. Responsibilities - Assist Lead Installer with daily spray foam operations - Prepare job sites (masking, covering windows, sealing openings, staging materials) - Install fiberglass, Rockwool, and blown-in insulation (training provided if needed) - Load, unload, and organize spray foam equipment and materials - Monitor hoses, spray gun, and machinery during operation - Maintain cleanliness of job site, rig and equipment - Ensure waste disposal and recycling of used materials is handled properly - Refuel generators as needed each day (company pays for fuel) - Occasionally run to our distributors or Home Depot for materials - Complete end-of-day checklist with Lead Installer Required Skills - Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record - Reliable transportation to and from job sites each day (truck required) - Prior construction or trade experience helpful but not required - Use common hand tools such as knives, scissors, saws, and staple guns - Comfortable working in tight spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and on ladders - Strong teamwork and communication skills - Willingness to learn spray foam techniques and advance within company Job Type: Full-time Pay: $750.00 - $875.00 / week ($16-19/hr) If you have the skills and qualifications required for this position, we encourage you to apply.
