The Position We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and dedicated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Retail Wine Associate. This position is perfect for someone who is eager to start a career in the wine industry. While prior wine experience is a plus, it is not required. We value a great attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for learning. We will provide basic training on everything from inventory management to regional wine knowledge. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) Customer Service & Sales: Engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, offering personalized wine recommendations and assisting with selections, all while ensuring an excellent shopping experience. Retail Operations: Handle point-of-sale (POS) transactions, assist with general store upkeep, including dusting, organizing displays, and keeping the shop clean. Stock & Inventory: Receive, unpack, and stock wine deliveries, ensuring shelves are fully stocked and products are correctly priced. What You'll Bring (Requirements & Qualifications) -A genuine interest in wine and a desire to learn. -An outgoing, friendly, and professional demeanor; a customer-first attitude is essential. -The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (the busiest times for retail). -The physical ability to stand for long periods, reach, bend, and safely lift and carry 40+ lbs (a full case of wine). -Must be at least 21 years of age (required by law to handle alcohol). -Basic knowledge of wine regions, varietals, or tasting is a bonus, but not a requirement. Ensure all products meet food safety and sanitation guidelines. Collaborate with the team on new menu ideas, seasonal specials, and custom creations. Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked. Qualifications 1–3 years of professional baking experience preferred (pastry, bread, or cake decorating experience a plus). Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and kitchen safety. Ability to follow recipes and also adapt creatively when needed. Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Team player with a positive, dependable, and hardworking attitude. This is a full-time position, Friday to Tuesday, 8am to 4pm Required Duties: • Carefully pack orders, paying particular attention to delicate items to prevent creasing and damage during shipping. • Process completed orders before packing, identifying missing items for backorders, and requesting items from Purchasing and Production. • Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routes. • Utilize shipping software to print shipping labels and customs documents. • Attach shipping labels on cartons; identify shipping information on goods. • Keep and verify records on incoming and outgoing shipments. • Manage and prioritize workload, operating efficiently and effectively. • Maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked, and presentable workspace. • Comply with company safety procedures and safety-first culture. Required Skills and Qualifications • Strong time management skills, punctuality, and reliability. • Team-oriented and positive attitude. • Ability to adapt, multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a changing environment. • Comfortable working in a diverse, sex and kink-positive environment. • Ability to lift 55 lbs.
