This role is critical to supporting our foundry and metal manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of heavy manufacturing equipment, foundry systems, and facility infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on foundry and metal fabrication equipment, including furnaces, overhead cranes, presses, grinders, welders, and ventilation systems. • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems to minimize downtime. • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work protocols. • Maintain and repair facility infrastructure such as compressors, water treatment systems, and industrial exhaust systems. • Monitor equipment performance, maintain service records, and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency. • Support foundry operations by responding quickly to breakdowns and coordinating repairs with production teams. • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings to guide repairs and installations. • Assist with installation and commissioning of new manufacturing and foundry equipment. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance or related field preferred. • 3+ years of maintenance experience in metal manufacturing, foundry, or heavy industrial environments (foundry experience is a must). • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repair practices. • Strong mechanical knowledge with ability to diagnose and troubleshoot. • Familiarity with fabrication and machining tools. • Welding experience and weld repair experience required. • Experience using hand tools and power tools effectively. • Knowledge of commercial wiring and ability to safely perform electrical maintenance tasks. • Ability to troubleshoot programmable logic controls (PLCs) a plus. • Knowledge of Induct-Thurm Furnace is a plus. • Experience with conveyor maintenance and shake-out systems. • Skilled in reading technical schematics, blueprints, and service manuals. • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance. • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb, and work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments typical of foundry operations. • Self-motivated with strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Bilingual (Spanish & English) highly preferred.
