Position: Chain Tech Pacific Trail Manufacturing is looking to fill an entry level chainsaw chain tech for our fabrication shop located in SE Portland. We’re a small business looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and attention to detail. The ideal applicant will be able to work as a team member, on-time, follow multi-step verbal communication and will strive for manufacturing best practices and cleanliness. Little to no knowledge of chainsaws or chain is necessary, however being mechanically minded is a must. This role involves a basic understanding of general mechanics and the ability to problem solve general mechanical situations. Responsibilities: Select proper inventory items from shelf. Unbox chainsaw chain and detangle looped chain. Measure length of chain and count drive links. Be able to identify different types of chainsaw chain. Properly loop chain together using chain breaker and rivet spinner. Prepare chain for packaging. Set timers for chainsaw sharpening procedures. Load and unload chainsaw automatic chainsaw sharpener with chain. Maintain chain sharpening machine and procedures. Qualifications: Mechanical aptitude.
