WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Work with a team of talented engineers, both starting projects from scratch and also working within the existing code base Build the back-end wiring, application logic, and UI for our products Drive the development process for your team, including design, coding, documenting, testing, debugging, and tuning Provide accurate estimates, evaluate feasibility, and assess new platforms and technologies for project implementations Collaborate and communicate clearly across multiple development teams to design and release amazing products WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 6+ years of experience in software engineering Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline Excellent programming skills in Java or other object-oriented language Strong communication skills Strong analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills Passion for improving education through technology Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 to $200,000 + equity + benefits. A senior technical expert responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data solutions using Databricks and Azure Data technologies. This principal engineer oversees the architecture, integration, design, development and deployment of reusable patterns and solutions ensuring that they are scalable, secure and efficient. Treeswift is revolutionizing decision-making for critical energy infrastructure in the face of rising threats like severe storms and wildfires. In the U.S. alone, hundreds of thousands of miles of transmission lines and millions of miles of distribution lines need to be carefully monitored and maintained to reduce hazards. The largest of these hazards is interaction with vegetation that can cause outages or fires. With the rapid growth of renewable energy this infrastructure footprint is expected to more than double in the coming years creating more assets to defend than ever before. Treeswift’s mission is to deliver scalable technology to manage large-scale distributed infrastructure, starting with managing the risks posed by vegetation to power lines and extending to asset management, construction planning, and disaster recovery. We deliver transformative impact to our customers by innovating across the technical stack. LiDAR and imagery data is collected by sensor packs mounted on backpacks and vehicles that seamlessly integrate into customer operations. We then deploy AI to transform raw data into actionable analytics delivered to decision-makers in our software platform. After just a year and a half since our first utility pilot we are working with three of the five largest utilities in the United States and rapidly expanding our footprint across new customers and use cases. We’re hiring detail-oriented contractors to help us annotate and QA our data. You’ll be reviewing LiDAR and image datasets, flagging errors, tagging wires, and helping us ensure data quality for utility customers.
