This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and is part of the Office of Advancement, which works collaboratively with other APU departments and faculty to achieve organizational objectives. This position plans, organizes, and executes fundraising campaigns and events to secure financial support for APU, as well as takes the lead in working with APU alumni to foster relations and increase their financial support. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Donor Cultivation (50%) · Implement donor campaigns and gift cultivation strategies to increase donor engagement and support. o Assist in the development and execution of campaign strategies, timelines, and deliverables. o Coordinate day-to-day operations of fundraising campaigns. o Track donor engagement, campaign progress, and fundraising metrics using Raiser’s Edge. o Organize and support campaign-related activities internally and externally. o Maintain campaign documentation, budgets and calendars. · Be the lead on engaging with APU alumni through ongoing communications, organizing special events, and broadening awareness and support, including but not limited to: o Conducting a high volume of contacts and in-person meetings with alumni living in Alaska; o Coordinating opportunities for the senior team, admissions, and other staff traveling outside of Alaska to meet up with alumni; o Making telephone calls and coordinating virtual opportunities for out-of-state alumni. · Maintain accurate alumni records in the Raiser’s Edge database. · Assist with producing an electronic alumni newsletter quarterly. Events Coordination (40%) · Serve as lead coordinator of APU’s main annual fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events: o Blue & Gold Benefit Auction (Fundraising for APU Foundation held in September) o Friends of APU (Donor engagement and cultivating new friends of APU) o Donor & scholarship recipient event o Special Celebration of an APU event that is unique to the year o Alumni Meet Up events · Collaborate with other departments in the planning and coordination of APU events such as APU’s Indigenous Peoples Day event in October and Grad Nights in the winter and spring. · Work with CAO to develop event budgets, timelines, sponsorships, and vendor coordination. · Ensure events are mission-aligned, donor-centric, and provide meaningful engagement opportunities. · Evaluate event success and implement improvements using data and attendee feedback. Communications and Collaboration (10%) · Work with Marketing to develop content for donor-facing materials (invitations, programs, newsletters, social media). · Support cross-departmental collaboration on campaigns and initiatives that involve donor engagement. · Participate in University, department, and staff meetings and events. · Provide updates for quarterly board reports. KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS · Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills. · Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with a broad range of constituencies. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail. · Excellent written communications. · Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality. · Proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite. MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION · Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION · Three years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, campaign coordination, or event/project management (preferably in a university or educational setting). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Experience working on capital campaigns or major fundraising initiatives. · Knowledge of donor stewardship practices and alumni engagement. · Event planning and volunteer coordination experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to obtain an Alaska driver’s license and maintain a good driving record. Be willing to go through minimal training to become a certified APU vehicle driver. We have a live-in aide/ Companion / Caregiver position available for a thoughtful, reliable person with great people skills. CURRENT CLIENT OPENINGS: This position is located in Bay Village in Watsonville close to East Lake shopping center. We currently only have one 24 hour shift available per week with this couple. The candidate that is chosen for this position must be available for and will be able to choose from one of the following shifts: Wednesday 3p-Thursday 3p -or- Thursday 8a- Friday 8a. Important to note, this is a live-in position. The candidate who is chosen for this position will be able to live in/occupy the second bedroom of the home 24/7, even when they are not on shift. Opportunities for shift coverage and work in other homes are available for those who may be interested in more hours. This is a great opportunity for a person who is looking for paid work as well as housing. In this position you would be serving a developmentally disabled couple who also happen to be senior citizens. They need help with cooking, cleaning, basic hygiene, medication administration etc. They are both ambulatory so they navigate their home and the community well and are both pretty independent. They mostly sleep through the night (8-10 hours usually) with the exception of a 1am bathroom reminder. Folks who have a car for an outing would be appreciated but it is not required. At 24 hours per week this is a part time position and would therefore not qualify for benefits- medical, dental and life insurance. For those interested in benefits we can build up to a full time schedule. COMPENSATION: The pay is $20.50 per hour for awake hours (8a-midnight), paid by IHSS through the county of Santa Cruz so you'll need to enroll in In-Home Support Services to become a provider. For overnight shifts, you're paid $16.50 per hour to sleep during sleep hours, up to 8 hours a night (midnight-8a). Your IHSS registration expenses will be promptly reimbursed. Employees who work full time qualify for medical and dental benefits as well as PTO and life insurance.
